Bear is a gorgeous chocolate lab, with a dark heavy coat, big bones & head, and an excellent temperament.  He weighs in at a strong 85 pounds... lean and fit... reaching 24.5 inches at the shoulder.  His hips have been registered as OFA Excellent (the best rating obtainable) and his eyes have been tested every year since he was a puppy. 

A big loveable dog - Bear shows that work can be fun!  Bear has earned many awards over the years and has proven to breed excellent pups with great physical characteristics.  In 2006, Bear won the Illinois Upland Flusher Top Gun Division for both the season and the Championship.  (They hunt in a 10 acre area... 1 hunter, 1 dog, 0 training collars and one ticking stop watch!)  A picture of his trophy's plaque is shown below. 

Bear is a great blend of show and working lines with strong confirmation on his dad's side and Mississippi River hunting dogs on his mother's.  Over the years bear has also earned his Working Certificate (WC), Advanced Working Certificate (AWC) and his AKC Junior Hunter (JH) and Senior Hunter (SH) titles.
